Jessica Chancey, PhD

Electrophysiologist. Mentor. Mom.

Jessica Chancey is a Research Associate in the Howard Lab. She obtained a B.S. and M.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, then was postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism before coming to UT.

Jessica is an electrophysiologist that has studied biophysics of ion channels, single neuron and synaptic physiology in ex vivo brain slices, and in vivo physiology during behavior. Here, she utilizes slice electrophysiology and genetic mouse models to study the complex neurophysiological changes underlying genetic epilepsies.
